In a move that has Kentucky Wildcats fans buzzing, LSU wide receiver transfer Nic Anderson has officially committed to Kentucky, filling a critical need for the team. Nic Anderson, a former blue-chip recruit from Katy (Texas) High, entered the portal on Wednesday and was already on UK’s campus the very next day. His commitment followed swiftly, marking a significant addition to the roster.
Anderson’s journey to Lexington is anything but straightforward. After signing with Oklahoma in 2022, he redshirted his first year before exploding onto the scene as a redshirt freshman in 2023. With quarterback Dillon Gabriel leading the charge, Anderson hauled in 38 receptions for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns. His ability to stretch the field was particularly impressive, as he recorded 344 yards on passes of 20-plus air yards, according to PFF data. At that moment, he was one of college football’s most dangerous vertical threats. But then, injuries struck.
In 2024, Anderson appeared in just one game due to a quad injury. He later transferred to LSU in 2025, where he played in 10 games but faced setbacks from a car accident in July and a knee injury in November. Despite these challenges, he finished the season with 12 receptions for 106 yards. Injuries have undoubtedly shaped his career, but when healthy, Anderson has proven to be a game-changer for high-powered offenses. Kentucky is banking on him returning to that form in Lexington.
This commitment marks the fourth transfer addition at wide receiver for Kentucky’s new roster under head coach Mark Stoops. Anderson joins a talented group of transfers, including Olaus Alinen, Jesse Anderson, and Max Anderson, among others.
